Senior Manager - Sanctions Location: Frankfurt Our client is seeking an experienced compliance professional to join their global Legal team, reporting to the Sanctions & AML Director. You'll serve as a trusted internal advisor, ensuring adherence to international Trade Sanctions and AML regulations. Key Responsibilities: Own compliance with Trade Sanctions regimes (U.S., EU, UK, Switzerland) and AML regulations, assessing their impact on business operations. Support the development and implementation of the Sanctions and AML compliance management system. Oversee updates to IT screening tools in line with regulatory developments. Conduct compliance assessments on products, software, transactions, services, and third parties. Apply for export licences from EU authorities (e.g. BAFA) for restricted items destined for sanctioned countries. Negotiate trade controls clauses in third-party contracts. Lead audits, drive corrective actions, and deliver Sanctions and AML policies and training. Requirements: 6+ years in compliance, legal, or audit, with 4+ years focused on Western Trade Sanctions and AML. Deep knowledge of EU, U.S., and UK sanctions regimes and AML requirements, including licence applications. Experience with Trade Sanctions due diligence and compliance system digitalisation. SAP GTS or equivalent experience is a plus. Degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Business, or Law; legal qualification advantageous. Pharmaceutical or healthcare sector experience is a plus.
