The Specialist Finance Recruiters Trusted by Germany's Leading Organisations.

MAM Gruppe specialises in Finance recruitment across Germany, placing mid-level to senior professionals across Controlling, Accounting, Tax, Corporate Finance, FP&A and Treasury with organisations ranging from high-growth scale-ups to DAX-40 corporations.

Germany's finance talent market is competitive at the mid to senior level. Experienced Financial Controllers, FP&A Managers, Tax Specialists and Corporate Finance professionals are consistently in demand across the country's major financial centres, Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Berlin and Stuttgart, and the best candidates are rarely available through job adverts alone. Our Finance team has the networks and the market knowledge to reach them.

We work with organisations building their first local Finance function in Germany as well as those strengthening group-level finance teams that span multiple markets. Whether you need a Financial Controller in Frankfurt, a Head of Tax in Munich, a Corporate Finance Manager in Berlin or a CFO-level appointment anywhere in Germany, our consultants work exclusively within the Finance vertical and bring the depth of knowledge that comes with it.

The professionals we place include Financial Controllers, Heads of Controlling, Finance Managers, FP&A Managers, Tax Managers, Steuerberater, Corporate Finance Managers, Treasury Managers and CFOs. At every level, we focus on finding professionals who combine technical accuracy with genuine commercial awareness, because in Germany's finance market, one without the other is rarely enough.

Director of Group Accounting

Director of Group Accounting You've built consolidated reporting before. Now you get the mandate to reinvent it. The Opportunity This is a newly elevated Director role at the heart of a group finance function that's ready to modernise. You'll report directly into senior group finance leadership, with a clear brief: bring structure, automation and AI into how this international group does accounting. It's a strategic mandate, not a technical fix-it job, and you'll have the seniority to make it happen. This kind of remit doesn't come up often: full ownership of group accounting standards, direct access to senior leadership, and real authority to modernise. If you're currently doing similar work without the mandate to change it, that's the gap this role closes. The Role Own the group's consolidated financial statements, ensuring accuracy and IFRS compliance across all entities. Lead the Center of Excellence Accounting team and set the direction for accounting practices group-wide. Act as the main point of contact for auditors and regulators. Be the internal reference point for Controlling, Treasury and Tax on accounting matters. Harmonise accounting processes across group companies and own the group-wide chart of accounts. Drive automation and digital tools to cut manual work within the team. You'll be shaping how an international group works, not just maintaining what's already there. The Company Our client is an international corporate group with operations spanning multiple countries. The group finance function is going through a period of change, and this role sits right at the centre of it: harmonising processes, modernising systems and bringing more consistency to how entities report. The group is large enough to need this level of standardisation, and at a stage where processes haven't fully caught up with its size. That's exactly why the mandate exists, and why whoever takes it on will have real influence over how the function evolves. What You'll Need At least 5 years' accounting experience within an international corporation or an audit firm. Several years' leadership experience in a comparable role. In-depth knowledge of international financial reporting under IFRS. Good working knowledge of modern ERP or finance systems. Fluent German and English, written and spoken. How to Apply Interested?
