About the Role

Legal Counsel - Renewable Energy Projects
Location: Hamburg

Join a growing international organisation focused on accelerating the energy transition across Europe. You will be part of a multinational legal team supporting the development, construction and operation of renewable energy assets, including solar, wind and battery storage projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Structure, review and negotiate contracts for national and international renewable energy projects (including EPC and supply agreements).
  • Provide legal support for project upgrades, revamping and repowering.
  • Advise on legal matters relating to the operation and asset management of renewable energy sites (e.g., O&M agreements, land-use contracts, service and works agreements).
  • Support contract and claims management activities.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external law firms.
  • Develop and deliver internal training sessions.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified Volljurist, ideally with strong Staatsexamens.
  • Professional experience in renewable energy or international construction projects.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills in German and English.
  • Analytical mindset and understanding of regulatory and commercial aspects of the energy sector.
  • Confident, organised, proactive and solution-oriented working style.
  • High level of commitment, reliability and a collaborative approach.

Requirements: Completed legal studies and qualification as a lawyer; strong academic background preferred. 5+ years’ experience in renewable energy, public law, regulatory, or contract law - in a law firm or in-house within energy, industrial, or investment sectors. Strong presence, confident communication, and ability to engage with senior stakeholders. Structured, solution-oriented, and highly independent work style. Fluent English and German; additional European languages are a plus. High commitment, ownership mindset, and interest in legal, commercial, and organisational contexts.
