Business Lawyer

Business Lawyer The Opportunity Most in-house legal roles leave you siloed. You handle a narrow remit, escalate the complex stuff, and rarely see a deal through from start to finish. This one is different. You will be joining a small global legal team based in Frankfurt, which means you get genuine breadth: corporate law, contracts, compliance, M&A support, and insurance coordination, across a business operating across multiple continents. You will be visible, trusted, and given real responsibility from day one. The Role Working closely with the General Counsel, you will cover a wide range of legal and compliance activity, including: Preparing corporate resolutions and managing compliance obligations for group companies in Germany and internationally. Reviewing confidentiality agreements and contributing to contracts, templates, and policies. Organising and following up notary appointments, director and supervisory board meetings. Owning the contract management system: deadline monitoring, renewals, terminations, and filing. Supporting compliance management and investigations. Coordinating external providers in the insurance space, with scope to develop this area further. Contributing to cross-functional projects, including M&A activity and corporate reorganisations. The role is 3 days per week onsite, with flexibility for the remainder. The legal function operates at the centre of the group, with direct involvement in strategic decision-making. What You'll Need A qualification in commercial law, information law, or a related legal discipline (first state exam, bachelor's, or master's level), with relevant professional experience in a legal or compliance environment. Experience working in or alongside an industrial or internationally operating business. Fluent German and English, written and spoken Salary: €70,000–75,000. The Role Reporting to the Head of Legal for Europe, you'll act as the primary legal contact for the German business. The work is varied and substantive: real estate, permitting, construction, commercial contracts, M&A support, regulatory compliance, and energy trading. No two weeks will look the same. You'll advise across business units on new project acquisitions and partnerships, which means involvement from the earliest structuring conversations through to contract execution. You'll also manage relationships with external law firms, with a clear mandate to keep spend efficient and hold suppliers accountable. This is a broad, senior individual contributor role with meaningful stakeholder exposure and the autonomy to shape how legal support is delivered in Germany.
