About the Role
Manager Software Development
Location: Bavaria, Germany
Our client is seeking an experienced Manager of Software Development to lead one or more of their development teams, taking both disciplinary and technical responsibility for their output, growth and direction. In this role you will have a decisive influence on feature development and carry responsibility for projects, technologies and software architecture. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who is equally comfortable shaping team culture as they are contributing to technical design decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop one or more software development teams through coaching, performance evaluations and transparent communication.
- Define, implement and continuously improve software development processes and the SDLC.
- Drive software projects from feature development through to maintenance, refactoring and security updates.
- Contribute to software architecture and design for new components and services.
- Coordinate roadmap planning with product management.
- Align and communicate with cross-functional teams including QA, TechDoc, presales and support.
- Plan and coordinate training measures for team members.
- Work closely with senior leadership on departmental strategy and delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years in software development with strong hands-on experience in Java/Spring Boot, Angular experience is a plus.
- At least 1 year of leadership or management responsibility.
- Experience with CI/CD systems and release management.
- Solid understanding of software architecture and service design.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders.
- Willingness to take ownership and actively shape a team.
