About the Role

Data Protection Specialist
Location: Frankfurt, Germany

Our client is a large, complex organisation looking for a Data Protection Specialist to join their Data Protection Officer's team. The role covers a broad range of data protection matters - from advising on emerging technologies such as AI to audit and day-to-day compliance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise business units on the data protection-compliant implementation of projects, including AI solutions and process design.
  • Conduct data protection audits and contribute to the development of the control framework.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate data protection-relevant contracts.
  • Support day-to-day operations including the assessment and handling of potential data protection breaches.

Your Profile:

  • Degree in law, business law, data protection, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of GDPR and BDSG and wider data protection regulatory requirements.
  • Several years of experience in data protection, including audit and governance; data protection certification is a plus.
  • Practical experience designing, implementing, and documenting data protection controls or audits.
  • High IT affinity with an interest in AI tools; proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Analytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly to non-specialist audiences.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
