About the Role
Windows Systems Engineer (DevOps Focus)
The Opportunity
You're solid on Windows Server. You know your way around PowerShell. And you've been wanting to move further into DevOps for a while - but your current role keeps pulling you back into the same operational work.
This contract gives you a structured way to make that shift. You'll be embedded in a long-running project in a security-sensitive enterprise environment, operating and developing Windows Server 2025 infrastructure while progressively taking on DevOps-adjacent tasks as you grow in the role. The project is secured for 3+ years. The initial contract runs up to 12 months within a framework agreement. Fully remote, within Germany.
The Role
Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for:
- Operating and further developing Windows Server 2025 environments
- Application operations: deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Automation via PowerShell and Batch scripting
- Taking on DevOps workflows as you develop in the role
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation
Workload is 4 to 5 days per week.
The Environment
This is an enterprise operations team working in a security-sensitive context. That means a clean background check and SÜ2 security clearance are required, along with C1 German, EU/NATO residency for the past 5 years, and remote work from within Germany only.
If you've worked in regulated or public sector environments before, you'll know what to expect.
What You'll Need
- Solid experience with Windows Server in enterprise environments
- Hands-on application operations experience: deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting
- PowerShell and Batch scripting skills
- An interest in DevOps workflows and a genuine desire to move in that direction
- C1 German
- Residence in an EU/NATO member state for the past 5 years
- Willingness to undergo SÜ2 security clearance
