About the Role

Senior AI Engineer, SAP BTP and Public Cloud

The Opportunity

Most AI engineering roles right now are either pure research or pure integration work - wiring up an API and calling it done. This one sits in a more interesting space.

A Hamburg-based software company specialising in cloud solutions for energy and logistics is building AI-powered features directly into its products. You'd be joining an agile engineering team working on a cloud-native architecture across SAP BTP and Node.js - owning AI implementation end to end, from RAG-based solutions and LLM integration through to cost optimisation and technical coaching of the wider team.

It's a senior role with real scope: you'll be shaping how AI works in production, not just proving concepts.

The Role

You'll be responsible for:

  • Implementing AI-powered features within public cloud products
  • Integrating LLM and AI services via APIs, including SAP AI Core and Azure OpenAI
  • Developing RAG-based solutions across structured and unstructured data
  • Implementing AI services within microservices architectures with multi-tenancy in mind
  • Event-driven integration patterns and API-first design
  • Logging, monitoring and output validation for AI functions
  • Cost-conscious use of AI services: token optimisation and scaling logic
  • Technical coaching on AI implementations and contributing to AI best practices across engineering

The Company

An established software house based in Hamburg, focused on cloud solutions for the energy and logistics sectors. The team works in an agile setup on a modern, cloud-native stack. English is the primary working language.

What You'll Need

  • Several years of experience in modern software development, particularly Node.js and cloud-native environments
  • Proven experience integrating LLMs or AI services into production systems
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures
  • Experience with SAP BTP or a comparable cloud platform
  • Knowledge of RAG patterns, prompt engineering and AI service integration
  • Understanding of scaling, observability and cost models in cloud environments
  • Experience in distribution, logistics or supply chain software is a strong advantage

SAP Full Stack Private Cloud

Deep ABAP Skills? Here's a Role Built Around Them. The Opportunity Most SAP development roles ask for a bit of everything and deliver a lot of nothing in particular. This one is different. Our client, a Hamburg-based SAP software company, is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer whose centre of gravity is exactly where it should be: deep ABAP expertise, modern clean-core principles, and enterprise-grade S/4HANA Private Cloud development. If you're the kind of developer who cares about building things that are robust, scalable and upgrade-stable, you'll find the right environment here. The Role You'll be hands-on in ABAP, RAP, CDS and OData V4 — that's the core of the role, not a footnote. Alongside that, you'll be building SAP Fiori and UI5 frontend components with a real focus on usability and performance, applying API-first design principles, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines. You'll work closely with a Technical Architect and a Senior AI Engineer, which means your work sits at the centre of how this product evolves. Clean-core isn't a buzzword here. It's how the team builds. The Company A Hamburg-based software company operating at the intersection of SAP Private Cloud and cloud-native architecture. The team is technically serious, the product portfolio is mature, and the work is the kind that holds up over time. What You'll Need Several years of SAP full stack development experience Deep S/4HANA Private Cloud or on-prem development background Strong ABAP, RAP, CDS, OData V4 and ABAP OO skills Solid SAPUI5 and Fiori Elements experience How to Apply Your CV doesn't need to be up to date.
