Strategic Finance Business Partner, Director
Location: Hamburg

Our client is a large international organisation seeking an experienced finance professional to join its Global Business Services function. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical capability with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across a complex, global business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build robust business cases, weighing risk, ROI and scenarios.
  • Develop financial and economic models to support decision-making.
  • Track value delivery and oversee benefits realisation frameworks.
  • Monitor savings against target, investigating variances and corrective actions.
  • Partner closely with senior leaders across Global Business Services.
  • Produce polished reporting materials and dashboards for executives.
  • Drive automation and data quality improvements across finance systems.
  • Uphold financial controls, policies and accounting standards.
  • Contribute to audits, governance reviews and benefit tracking.
  • Manage the annual budgeting cycle, rolling forecasts and monthly close.
  • Own the monthly cost allocation and chargeback process.
  • Liaise with regional finance colleagues, maintaining clear communication.

Your Profile:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar.
  • MBA, Master's, CPA or ACCA advantageous.
  • Additional certifications (e.g. PMI, PMP) a plus.
  • 10+ years' relevant experience, ideally in project management.
  • Track record building and defending detailed business cases.
  • Solid grounding in financial modelling for large-scale initiatives.
  • Familiarity with global chargeback or cost allocation processes.
  • Prior exposure to shared services, GBS or transformation environments.
  • Confident Excel modeller, comfortable with ERP, FP&A and BI tools.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
  • Comfortable influencing stakeholders at executive level.
  • Open to international travel and flexible working across time zones.
