About the Role

Senior Legal Counsel
Location: Dusseldorf

Our client is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide legal and compliance support for their operations across the DACH region. This role involves advising on a variety of commercial and regulatory matters, working closely with business stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and support negotiations of contracts, including industry-standard construction agreements and distribution/channel terms.
  • Provide legal guidance on antitrust and competition regulations in distribution and channel partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates and legal policies.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks by contributing to policies and procedures.
  • Manage claims and litigation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
  • Deliver training and support legal compliance programs.
  • Provide additional legal support as required by management.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified lawyer authorised to practice in Germany (two state exams).
  • Fluent in English and German (written and verbal).
  • Experience working in an international corporate environment, ideally in an in-house legal role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex legal and commercial issues.
  • Commercially minded with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
