About the Role

Senior Legal Counsel

The Opportunity

Tired of advising from the sidelines while someone else takes the lead? Here, you own legal for an entire region.

This is the lead legal role for DACH, covering technology contracting, employment and governance. You'll work with full autonomy, sit close to the commercial team and be the person the business turns to when a deal or a dispute matters.

Work from an office or fully remote, the choice is yours. As your remit grows, there is real scope to take on wider international responsibility.

The Role

  • Lead cloud, software and services contracting for the DACH sales team, negotiating directly with customers' legal and procurement teams.
  • Advise HR, finance and marketing on employment, governance and marketing matters across the region.
  • Manage commercial disputes alongside local leadership.
  • Help modernise the wider legal function through automation and reporting projects, shaping how legal works rather than inheriting it.

The Company

Our client is an international technology business providing cloud and software solutions to business customers across Europe and beyond.

The legal function is investing in automation and contract management tools, which means less time on admin and more on the work that genuinely needs a lawyer. Combine that with full working flexibility and a clear route into an international remit, and this is a role you can build a career around, not just fill.

What You'll Need

  • German legal qualification.
  • 5+ years' experience in technology transactions, in private practice or in-house.
  • Experience negotiating complex, multi-jurisdictional SaaS and cloud agreements.
  • Solid knowledge of European data protection law.
  • Fluent German and English.

Senior Legal Counsel

Senior Legal Counsel The Opportunity If you've spent your career fitting into legal frameworks someone else built, here's a role where you build the framework instead. Our client is a fast-growing international technology company, scaling its product platform across Europe. As the German business grows, it needs a dedicated legal presence, and that's where you come in. You'll work directly with the Group General Counsel and decide what "legal" looks like here, from policy to process to precedent.  The Role Build the legal framework for the German entity from the ground up, aligned with group-level standards. Create internal policies, templates and approval workflows that speed up decisions and reduce risk across the business. Lead German employment law as headcount grows, including setting up the works council and managing co-determination duties. Own regulatory compliance across the relevant EU and German frameworks, bringing in outside specialists where you need them. Track export control and trade compliance requirements as the company enters new markets. Manage IP across patents, trademarks, copyright and licensing. Support investment rounds, cross-border structuring, due diligence and intercompany setups alongside the finance team. Act as the main point of contact for regulators, notaries and other authorities, in Germany and beyond. Advise leadership on the legal and risk implications of operational decisions, before they become problems. The Company Our client is a fast-growing, international hardware technology business, scaling a product platform across multiple European markets. Germany is central to that growth, and this role brings dedicated legal support into the country. You'll report directly to the Group General Counsel, with real scope to shape policy and process from day one, rather than work within a structure someone else has already set. As the business expands into new markets and product lines, your role will expand with it, from employment law and compliance through to IP, investment support and cross-border structuring. What You'll Need Seven or more years in legal or corporate law, with strong German corporate and commercial practice. Background working with regulated physical products, in certification, safety or manufacturing environments such as automotive, industrial machinery, hardware or medical technology. Working knowledge of EU regulatory frameworks relevant to hardware, AI and connected products. Fluent German and strong English. How to Apply Interested? Your CV doesn't need to be up to date.
