About the Role
(Senior) Legal Counsel - Antitrust
Location: Hamburg
A role that inspires you
Based in Hamburg, you will act as a senior adviser on antitrust and competition law within an international legal function. You will support complex commercial activities and strategic initiatives, providing clear, pragmatic guidance in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising on competition and antitrust matters across business activities.
- Reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements with horizontal and vertical aspects.
- Assessing market power, competitive behaviour and cooperation structures.
- Supporting interactions with competitors, associations and industry bodies.
- Advising on M&A transactions, including merger control.
- Supporting investigations, regulatory proceedings and cartel damages litigation.
- Engaging with competition authorities and representing the organisation externally.
- Developing internal standards, guidance and antitrust training.
- Collaborating closely with compliance, business stakeholders and legal colleagues.
- Managing external competition counsel and related budgets.
- Monitoring legal developments and advising on emerging risks.
Your Profile:
- Fully qualified lawyer with bar admission or equivalent qualification.
- Several years’ experience in antitrust/competition law, in private practice and/or in-house.
- Proven expertise in investigations and compliance.
- Solid knowledge of related areas such as M&A or commercial law.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills in international environments.
- Fluent German and English.
- Commercially minded, analytical and solution-oriented.
- Collaborative, adaptable and willing to travel occasionally.
