About the Role

Head of Export Control
Location: Hamburg

Our client is seeking a Head of Export control to lead the operational export control team within the Trade Compliance function, acting as the key advisor for export control matters across departments and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement export control policies and compliance measures.
  • Serve as the main contact for authorities, service providers, internal teams, and leadership.
  • Manage customs and foreign trade audits and related follow-up.
  • Handle complex compliance issues and dispute resolution.
  • Participate in external committees and cross-functional projects.
  • Develop internal communication and training programs.
  • Lead and manage the export control team.

Your Profile:

  • Degree in logistics, international trade, or related field; export control/customs training preferred.
  • Extensive experience in export control and customs, with leadership experience in an international environment.
  • Strong knowledge of German, EU, and US export control and customs regulations.
  • Skilled in project and process management.
  • Fluent in German and English, with excellent communication skills.
