About the Role

Senior Tax Manager (M&A)

The Opportunity

If your tax work currently ends with a memo someone else acts on, this role puts you on the other side of the table.

You'll own the tax side of every deal, from the first structuring conversation to long after closing. You design the structure, negotiate the tax positions yourself, then stay with the portfolio to keep it compliant and efficient.

Your after-tax modelling feeds straight into deal valuations, which means your work shapes investment decisions rather than sitting in an appendix.

The Role

You'll advise on buy-side and sell-side transactions involving layered, cross-border structures. Day to day, that means:

  • Designing tax-efficient structures that also protect investor reputation
  • Reviewing external due diligence reports and challenging findings that don't hold up
  • Securing robust tax positions in purchase agreements and side documentation, and finding workable solutions when parties disagree
  • Modelling after-tax returns and feeding them into deal valuations
  • Briefing accounting teams and investors' advisers once deals close
  • Managing compliance and documentation across investment vehicles, including transfer pricing
  • Spotting tax risks early and coordinating mitigation with group functions and outside counsel
  • Leading restructurings and keeping every stakeholder aligned
  • Tracking legislative change and what it means for the portfolio

You'll work directly with investors, finance colleagues and external advisers, so your recommendations reach the people making the decisions.

The Company

Our client is an international investment organisation with a portfolio spanning multiple jurisdictions. Tax is built into how it invests, not treated as a compliance step at the end.

That gives you two things that are rarely found together: the pace and variety of live transactions, and the continuity of seeing the structures you designed perform over time.

What You'll Need

  • Four to seven years' tax experience gained in advisory, in-house or with the tax authorities
  • Solid knowledge of German and international tax law
  • Confidence building financial models, including after-tax return analysis
  • Fluent German and English

Finance Manager

Finance Manager The Opportunity If you're an accountant in financial services and you only ever see one slice of the finance cycle, this role gives you the whole picture. You'll run the month-end close, own the statutory year end and produce the reporting that local leadership and the parent group use to make decisions. Board papers too. You'll join a small team led by the Head of Finance, which means your work is visible and your judgement carries weight. As you settle in, more ownership comes your way. And you're not inheriting a finished system. Improving how the function works is part of the brief. If you've ever looked at a process and known there's a better way, here you get to build it. The Role Own the month-end close, with bookkeeping under IFRS and German GAAP in SAP Steer the year end, from statutory accounts and supporting files through to the audit Deliver monthly reporting to local leadership and the parent group, including commentary on revenue development Prepare the financial content for board meetings Manage cash and liquidity across bank accounts, cards and petty cash Run billing and collections, and coordinate supplier payments with a shared service team Calculate and invoice intercompany recharges Work closely with group accounting and controlling, external auditors and customers Find better ways of working and put them into practice That breadth is rare. In a large finance department it can take years to touch every one of these areas. Here, it's the job from day one. The Company Our client is a financial services business operating as part of a wider international group. You get the backing and structure of a group, with the pace and closeness of a small local team. Your reporting goes to both local leadership and group, so your work and your profile build on both sides of the business. What You'll Need Hands-on accounting experience gained in financial services Confident working knowledge of both IFRS and German GAAP Business-level German and English How to Apply Interested? Tax Expert - International VAT

Tax Expert - International VAT The Opportunity If you're ready to move beyond routine VAT compliance and take ownership of how tax actually works across a business, this is worth a closer look. You'll become the primary point of contact for VAT across multiple entities, with real scope to modernise how VAT processes are run rather than simply maintaining them. The Role Advise on national and cross-border VAT questions as the primary point of contact for domestic and international entities. Resolve complex VAT issues with practical, legally sound solutions. Lead digitisation and automation initiatives for VAT related workflows. Manage German VAT refund procedures for foreign group entities. Handle VAT registrations for domestic entities operating abroad. Contribute to internal tax guidelines and process standards. Support accurate VAT mapping within the group's ERP system. The Company You'll be joining a well-established, multi-entity organisation with operations spanning several countries. VAT touches a wide range of its business units, which means your advice will carry weight across the group rather than sitting in a single team. The organisation is actively investing in digitising its tax function, so you'll have genuine support to bring automation projects to life rather than just talking about them. What You'll Need Three to five years' experience in VAT, gained in a tax advisory practice or a large international organisation. Solid grounding in both domestic and international VAT frameworks, with experience handling cross-border transactions. Fluency in German and English. Transfer Pricing Expert

Transfer Pricing Expert If you've spent your career explaining someone else's transfer pricing decisions to tax authorities, here's a role where you make the decisions instead. You'll take ownership of transfer pricing for an international industrial group with manufacturing operations spanning multiple countries. This isn't a support function tucked inside tax. You'll set the framework that finance, controlling and operational teams across the group's entities work within. The Role Own the group's global transfer pricing framework, from policy design to day-to-day application across manufacturing, contract manufacturing, sales, services and financing activities. Represent the business directly in front of national and international tax authorities, leading audits from start to finish with documentation that stands up to scrutiny. Direct external advisors, tax consultants and economists, on complex engagements and hold them to your standard. Coordinate Master File, Local File and Country-by-Country Reporting across the group's entities. Shape the transfer pricing implications of corporate restructurings, supply chain changes and new business models through functional and risk analysis. Drive the digitisation of transfer pricing processes, choosing and implementing the tools and data infrastructure that replace manual work. Keep the group's transfer pricing policy current as OECD guidance and German tax law evolve. The Company Our client is an internationally operating industrial group with a significant manufacturing footprint across multiple countries. Its supply chain spans production, contract manufacturing, sales and financing activities, which makes transfer pricing a genuinely central function rather than a compliance afterthought. You'll work closely with finance, controlling and operational teams across its international entities, with direct visibility into how transfer pricing decisions shape the wider business. What You'll Need Fluent German and English. A degree in business administration, economics, finance or law. Experience defending transfer pricing positions in tax audits. Several years' experience in transfer pricing, gained at a multinational, a Big Four firm or a tax consultancy. Working knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain structures. Strong grounding in OECD guidelines and German transfer pricing rules. How to Apply Interested? Get in touch with the MAM Gruppe team for a confidential conversation about this role.
