Our client is seeking a skilled Senior VAT Specialist to oversee VAT compliance across multiple European markets. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of complex cross-border tax matters within a dynamic, international environment.

About the Role

As Senior VAT Specialist, you will manage all aspects of VAT compliance and reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across several European entities. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to navigate evolving VAT regulations, optimise processes, and support business operations across borders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full VAT compliance across multiple European legal entities.

  • Coordinate with external advisors on VAT returns, registrations, and payments.

  • Review and approve VAT filings and supporting documentation.

  • Conduct VAT audits and transaction reviews, including month-end checks.

  • Advise internal teams on VAT matters, including invoicing and contract review.

  • Support implementation of electronic invoicing regulations in relevant markets.

Requirements

  • Degree in Economics, Law, Finance, or a related field with a focus on taxation.

  • At least 2 years’ experience in VAT or tax, ideally in an international company or consultancy.

  • Strong understanding of EU VAT regulations and cross-border supply chain processes.

  • Familiarity with import/export procedures and indirect tax compliance.

  • Proficient in MS Office and SAP; fluent in both German and English.

  • Analytical and solution-driven, with excellent coordination and communication skills.
