About the Role

Legal Counsel
Location: Munich, Germany

Our client is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join their in-house Legal team. In this role you will work closely with the Head of Legal across a broad range of legal disciplines, acting as a strategic partner to the business in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide business-focused legal advice across contract and commercial law, civil law, data protection, corporate law, and IT law.
  • Review and draft contracts, terms and conditions, and internal policies and templates.
  • Conduct legal analyses and support business leaders in developing legal strategies.
  • Review and maintain website legal content in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments and translate these into actionable guidance.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel.
  • Help strike the right balance between entrepreneurial risk-taking and protecting the organisation's people and assets.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified lawyer with strong academic credentials from German jurisdiction (First State Examination) or a Master of Laws (LL.M.).
  • 4+ years of post-qualification experience at an international law firm or in an in-house legal function.
  • Strong expertise in commercial and contract law, civil law, and data protection; corporate law and IT law experience is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of applicable statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both English and German.
  • Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
  • Pragmatic, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to apply legal principles to real-world business situations.
