A role that inspires you

When the world changes, the rules change too — and you’ll be the one helping a global automotive innovator navigate them.

As In-House Counsel specialising in Sanctions and Export Control Law, you’ll play a critical role in safeguarding one of Germany’s most respected family-owned technology groups. You’ll advise on international compliance matters, draft and negotiate complex contracts, and ensure global operations stay firmly aligned with legal and ethical standards.

Your expertise won’t just protect the business — it will empower innovation across 80 sites worldwide.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll act as a trusted advisor across global teams, shaping how compliance meets commerce.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts within the automotive and industrial sectors.
• Advise departments on commercial and compliance-related legal issues, mitigating risk and ensuring regulatory adherence.
• Monitor developments in sanctions and embargo law at EU, US, and international levels.
• Draft and negotiate relevant sanctions clauses with business partners.
• Support group-wide compliance programmes and help define internal policies and standards.
• Provide legal guidance to Export Control and business teams across global divisions.
• Conduct internal legal training sessions to build awareness of sanctions and compliance obligations.

Your insight will strengthen the company’s global integrity — ensuring every innovation stands on solid ground.

What you bring

You’re detail-driven but commercially minded — a lawyer who sees law as an enabler, not a constraint.
• Fully qualified lawyer (2nd State Examination).
• 3–5 years of professional experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, ideally within the automotive industry.
• Proven knowledge of international sanctions and export control law.
• Experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and compliance advisory.
• Interest in IT and data-related legal matters is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a confident, solution-oriented approach.
• Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken.

You combine legal precision with the empathy and pragmatism that make global collaboration possible.

What’s on offer

• A key legal role in one of Germany’s most respected family-owned global groups.
• Exposure to international compliance challenges across 28 countries.
• Hybrid working and flexible arrangements.
• Professional development opportunities and a culture built on trust, respect, and innovation.
• The chance to help shape the legal framework behind the mobility of tomorrow.
