Export Compliance Lawyer

Join a leading organisation as an Export Compliance Lawyer, where you will play a vital role in shaping and maintaining a robust global compliance framework. In this position, you’ll ensure adherence to complex international trade laws and provide expert guidance to senior management on regulatory challenges, helping safeguard the company’s global operations.
What you’ll be doing:
- 
	
Develop, implement, and maintain a global export compliance management system (CMS).
 - 
	
Establish and update group-wide export control policies, processes, and standards.
 - 
	
Conduct risk analyses to identify and mitigate export compliance risks.
 - 
	
Ensure compliance with international embargoes, sanctions, and trade regulations.
 - 
	
Advise business units on complex export control and contractual matters.
 - 
	
Support investigations and whistleblowing procedures related to compliance.
 - 
	
Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management on compliance risks and controls.
 - 
	
Communicate regulatory updates and ensure integration into company-wide processes.
 
What you bring:
- 
	
Fully qualified German lawyer (Zweites Staatsexamen) with several years of relevant experience, ideally in an international corporate environment.
 - 
	
Strong expertise in national and international export control laws (EU dual-use regulations, German Foreign Trade Act, US export control, and sanctions law).
 - 
	
Experience in designing and managing compliance frameworks and governance structures.
 - 
	
Analytical, structured, and proactive working style.
 - 
	
Excellent advisory and communication skills in both German and English; additional languages are a plus.
