About the Role

Director of Group Accounting

You've built consolidated reporting before. Now you get the mandate to reinvent it.

The Opportunity

This is a newly elevated Director role at the heart of a group finance function that's ready to modernise. You'll report directly into senior group finance leadership, with a clear brief: bring structure, automation and AI into how this international group does accounting. It's a strategic mandate, not a technical fix-it job, and you'll have the seniority to make it happen.

This kind of remit doesn't come up often: full ownership of group accounting standards, direct access to senior leadership, and real authority to modernise. If you're currently doing similar work without the mandate to change it, that's the gap this role closes.

The Role

  • Own the group's consolidated financial statements, ensuring accuracy and IFRS compliance across all entities.
  • Lead the Center of Excellence Accounting team and set the direction for accounting practices group-wide.
  • Act as the main point of contact for auditors and regulators.
  • Be the internal reference point for Controlling, Treasury and Tax on accounting matters.
  • Harmonise accounting processes across group companies and own the group-wide chart of accounts.
  • Drive automation and digital tools to cut manual work within the team.

You'll be shaping how an international group works, not just maintaining what's already there.

The Company

Our client is an international corporate group with operations spanning multiple countries. The group finance function is going through a period of change, and this role sits right at the centre of it: harmonising processes, modernising systems and bringing more consistency to how entities report. The group is large enough to need this level of standardisation, and at a stage where processes haven't fully caught up with its size. That's exactly why the mandate exists, and why whoever takes it on will have real influence over how the function evolves.

What You'll Need

  • At least 5 years' accounting experience within an international corporation or an audit firm.
  • Several years' leadership experience in a comparable role.
  • In-depth knowledge of international financial reporting under IFRS.
  • Good working knowledge of modern ERP or finance systems.
  • Fluent German and English, written and spoken.

Tax Expert - International VAT

Tax Expert - International VAT The Opportunity If you're ready to move beyond routine VAT compliance and take ownership of how tax actually works across a business, this is worth a closer look. You'll become the primary point of contact for VAT across multiple entities, with real scope to modernise how VAT processes are run rather than simply maintaining them. The Role Advise on national and cross-border VAT questions as the primary point of contact for domestic and international entities. Resolve complex VAT issues with practical, legally sound solutions. Lead digitisation and automation initiatives for VAT related workflows. Manage German VAT refund procedures for foreign group entities. Handle VAT registrations for domestic entities operating abroad. Contribute to internal tax guidelines and process standards. Support accurate VAT mapping within the group's ERP system. The Company You'll be joining a well-established, multi-entity organisation with operations spanning several countries. VAT touches a wide range of its business units, which means your advice will carry weight across the group rather than sitting in a single team. The organisation is actively investing in digitising its tax function, so you'll have genuine support to bring automation projects to life rather than just talking about them. What You'll Need Three to five years' experience in VAT, gained in a tax advisory practice or a large international organisation. Transfer Pricing Expert

Transfer Pricing Expert If you've spent your career explaining someone else's transfer pricing decisions to tax authorities, here's a role where you make the decisions instead. You'll take ownership of transfer pricing for an international industrial group with manufacturing operations spanning multiple countries. This isn't a support function tucked inside tax. You'll set the framework that finance, controlling and operational teams across the group's entities work within. The Role Own the group's global transfer pricing framework, from policy design to day-to-day application across manufacturing, contract manufacturing, sales, services and financing activities. Represent the business directly in front of national and international tax authorities, leading audits from start to finish with documentation that stands up to scrutiny. Direct external advisors, tax consultants and economists, on complex engagements and hold them to your standard. Coordinate Master File, Local File and Country-by-Country Reporting across the group's entities. Shape the transfer pricing implications of corporate restructurings, supply chain changes and new business models through functional and risk analysis. Drive the digitisation of transfer pricing processes, choosing and implementing the tools and data infrastructure that replace manual work. Keep the group's transfer pricing policy current as OECD guidance and German tax law evolve. The Company Our client is an internationally operating industrial group with a significant manufacturing footprint across multiple countries. Its supply chain spans production, contract manufacturing, sales and financing activities, which makes transfer pricing a genuinely central function rather than a compliance afterthought. You'll work closely with finance, controlling and operational teams across its international entities, with direct visibility into how transfer pricing decisions shape the wider business. What You'll Need Fluent German and English. A degree in business administration, economics, finance or law. Experience defending transfer pricing positions in tax audits. Several years' experience in transfer pricing, gained at a multinational, a Big Four firm or a tax consultancy. Working knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain structures. Strong grounding in OECD guidelines and German transfer pricing rules. How to Apply Interested? Get in touch with the MAM Gruppe team for a confidential conversation about this role. Senior Financial Accountant

Senior Financial Accountant  If you're ready to take ownership of complex accounting instead of just closing the books, this is worth ten minutes of your Saturday night. The Opportunity You'll take the lead on some of the trickiest accounting issues in the business, the kind that need real judgement, not a checklist. Instead of routine postings, you'll be the person colleagues come to when something doesn't fit the standard pattern. You'll also have genuine influence over how things get done. If you've ever sat inside a process thinking "why do we still do it this way?", here you get to actually change it, not just flag it. The Role Take ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, keeping P&L and balance sheet accounts accurate and audit-ready. Independently prepare annual financial statements for group companies, so the output carries your name, not just your input. Act as the go-to person for complex accounting questions, building solutions rather than escalating them upward. Work directly with stakeholders across the business, becoming a trusted point of contact rather than a back-office function. Review and redesign processes end to end, with real influence over how the accounting function evolves. The Company Our client is an established international business with a stable, well-run finance function behind it. You'll be joining a team where process improvement is genuinely part of the job, not a side project, and where a senior accountant is trusted to run with complex issues rather than pass them up the chain. What You'll Need Several years of experience in financial accounting, ideally within an international company or group. A completed qualification as a certified accountant, tax specialist, or comparable. Solid, hands-on experience preparing financial statements and resolving complex accounting issues. Fluent German and English. How to Apply Get in touch with the MAM Gruppe team for a confidential conversation about this role.
