About the Role

Contract Risk Manager

Location: Frankfurt

 

Our client is seeking a Contract Risk Manager to join their team in Frankfurt. This role sits within a broader risk management function and covers both pre-award and contract execution phases across projects and service agreements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Assessing and mitigating technical and commercial risks on projects and contracts exceeding defined thresholds, across bid and execution phases.
  • Supporting a stage-gate governance process and reporting to relevant management levels.
  • Defining and maintaining risk classification standards for bids in collaboration with legal and compliance.
  • Reviewing bids independently against group standards and escalating findings as appropriate.
  • Preparing regular reports on tender pipelines and contract execution status.
  • Participating in due diligence reviews and producing ad-hoc risk reports for M&A activity.
  • Monitoring contract execution across project and framework agreements, with a focus on cost, schedule, quality, and risk.
  • Identifying deviations early and communicating proactively with stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with controlling and audit functions to maintain data quality and address findings.

 

Your Profile:

 

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in project management, controlling, or auditing.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and technical risk assessment in a project environment.
  • Certifications in project management (e.g. PMI) or auditing (e.g. CIA, CISA) advantageous.
  • SAP experience beneficial.
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Comfortable in cross-functional and international environments.
  • Business-fluent German and English, written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel.
