About the Role
Senior Compliance Manager
The Opportunity
If you've spent years making someone else's compliance framework work and want to own the design yourself, this is worth reading.
Our client is growing fast internationally, in one of the most heavily regulated sectors there is. Compliance is now at the top of the leadership agenda, and they need a senior specialist to own the architecture of the group-wide programme.
You'll join as an expert in your own right, not a people manager. That means full accountability for your area, the freedom to build it the way you think it should work, and your time spent on the work itself.
You'll also work closely with functional leads across the group, so what you build gets used. Your frameworks shape everyday decisions rather than sitting in a policy folder.
The Role
- Design the group compliance framework: governance, policies, standards and clear lines of accountability.
- Track regulatory change and, where it affects the group, define the controls, owners and rollout plan.
- Run structured risk assessments to identify and prioritise compliance exposure.
- Measure what's working through targeted monitoring, meaningful KPIs and regular reporting to leadership, then make sure gaps get closed.
- Bring privacy together at group level, in partnership with the Data Protection Officer.
- Set up oversight for specialist regulatory areas, including trade compliance, so issues are owned, escalated and visible.
- Prepare the business for audits and regulatory reviews, and steer the follow-up actions.
- Advise senior leaders on where compliance risk sits and what should come first.
The Company
Our client is an international group operating in a high-scrutiny, heavily regulated sector, and scaling quickly across several markets. That growth is exactly why this role exists: the compliance programme has to keep pace with the business, and leadership is backing it.
For you, that means real visibility at senior level, a mandate to build rather than simply maintain, and room to bring in AI, data and specialist tools to sharpen how compliance is monitored and reported.
What You'll Need
- Several years in compliance, with hands-on experience designing and running a compliance management system (risk assessment, policy frameworks, controls, monitoring and regulatory change).
- Experience in an international organisation operating under demanding regulatory requirements.
- A track record of driving cross-functional initiatives and advising senior management.
- Excellent English.
