About the Role
Compliance Officer
If you have outgrown reactive compliance work and want to build something from the ground up, this is worth ten minutes of your time.
The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to shape a compliance function rather than simply run one. You will have direct access to senior leadership, real influence over how the compliance management system evolves, and the mandate to lead investigations, audits and due diligence work end to end.
You will also grow and mentor the team around you, build the internal network the function needs, and shape training and communication across the business. If you want ownership rather than a narrow, process-driven role, this delivers it.
The Role
- Own the compliance management system: adapting it locally, embedding group policy, and driving its continuous evolution
- Build risk-based monitoring and reporting structures, defining KPIs that give real visibility into compliance performance
- Lead investigations, audits and external reviews, coordinating input across departments as needed
- Advise on due diligence and risk topics: third-party relationships, gifts and hospitality, sponsoring, donations, and supply chain risk
- Act as the go-to advisor for senior leadership on compliance questions
- Grow the compliance function: developing its network, mentoring the team, and shaping training and communication
- Champion a culture where raising concerns is normal, reinforcing integrity and ethical conduct
The Company
You will be joining a global manufacturing group operating across advanced materials and specialty components, supplying industries where quality and traceability are critical. The business is at a pivotal stage of its development, giving you the scope to build and evolve the compliance function rather than maintain what already exists.
What You'll Need
- Seven or more years in a hands-on legal or compliance role, ideally within a multinational organisation
- Hands-on experience building or evolving compliance management systems, with working knowledge of anti-corruption, fraud, conflict-of-interest, AML and supply chain risk
- A track record of running investigations, audits and third-party due diligence end to end
- Business-fluent German and English
